The Difference of a Week

Last week, our tulips popped. . .

This week, our tulips were covered with snow. . .

This weather was weird, even for the Midwest.

Spring-ish

I know "spring-ish" is not really a word, and I guess that it is improper, but it felt like the right adjective to use when I met a moist atmosphere upon coming out of church last Sunday. It still feels like the right word as I look outside to see spring color ushered in by a few days of rain. . .

Hoping to see more of the lovely season emerge~

When a Rainy Parade is Wonderful

A very happy birthday to two dear friends!
(so much fun to celebrate you both ~ your sunshine only stood out better in contrast to the dreary weather :)

A huge thank you to a particular mom and daughter pair for these pics!

Rainy Road

It doesn't often deserve that title. But today it certainly did. The change of scene urged me to take a picture. Made me appreciative of the grey.

Snow Week

We haven't seen a bit of snow fall this past week, but two weeks ago was a different story altogether. . .

And that was just round one of our trap in 'winter weather'. Flash forward a few days, and meet round two. . . .

Hooray for a wet snow!

We waited a few days before braving the roads. Then we were thankful for snow plows (especially the ones that did not dump clumps of ice at the end of our driveway) . . .

With the accumulation of about 25 inches of snow, the process of it melting is still under way. Funny thing is that I'm listening to the pleasant patter of rain right now. Weather keeps life exciting in the Midwest :) Warmth to you~ be it in blankets of snow, or bushels of sunshine!

Pouring Rain, Books, and Beauty

Last week we went to a literature festival, driving past fields of green. . .

We parked and walked from building to building, hearing from authors and illustrators. . .

I took notes while listening to Jeanette Ingold, Stephanie Tolan, Henry Cole, Leslie J. Wyatt, and Ard Hoyt. . .

I admired a particularly fascinating tree. . .

I appreciated this bit of sunshine on the ground, especially as it was a rainy day. . .

I laughed as I ran through the ran and my umbrella flipped inside out. . .

and I took pictures from my seat in the car as we came home and beauty whooshed by. . .

because the path keeps curving and there is so much to see at every now. . .

Blessings~ Megan

Enjoying Warm

March wears summer weather,

allows open windows and short sleeves.

I thought this week only called for green,

but I'm enjoying this all the same.

 Pleasant weather to you~ Megan

Rain, Cold, and Tea

When it's a rainy kind of day and you're using more tissues than usual,

a pot of tea is splendid company.

Painting the Week Through Scattered Showers

Rain and sunshine have been taking turns controlling the weather this week, usually alternating several times each day. This inspired me to do a simple rain drop effect over the bright pictures on my calendar painting--

May you always find sunshine behind clouds~ Megan

Painting the Week Warm

For once I had my calendar painting ready on Thursday. The week had been hot, so I used a lot of orange, yellow, and red. I photographed the picture and was ready to post it on here Friday, when I saw that Blogger was not working. The opportunity for me to try posting it again did not present itself until today and, in the meantime, the sky has become cloudy.

May you be having more cooperative weather~ Megan

A (Rainy) Day at the Zoo

Before school started, we went to the zoo with my Meemaw, Paw Paw, and cousins. Even though it rained most of the morning, we enjoyed our time.
